Here's another great book discussion from Mt. Gretna, the Pennsylvania Chautauqua! Today at 10am Lebanon Valley College Assistant Professor of Exercise Science, Lori Thomas will review "The Rationing" by Charles Wheelan.Today, July 28, at 10 a.m. Mt. Gretna, the Pennsylvania Chautauqua will host their Tuesday LVC Book Reviews via Zoom. Here's the link bit.ly/2X4VB37 The session will feature Assistant Professor of Exercise Science, Lori Thomas, and her review of "The Rationing" by Charles Wheelan. "The Rationing" is available in e-format via LVC's Overdrive and Libby apps lvc.overdrive.com/media/4373349 Dr. Thomas offered us this brief review.

"In the not so distant future, medicine has advanced to a point where one pill can cure any disease. In order to save their bottom line, the company that makes this pill allows the supply to run low. No big deal unless a pandemic breaks out..... 'The Rationing' is a fictitious tale about the scramble to quell a national health emergency while big pharmacy, the US Government and the National Institutes of Health all attempt save face. Enticing read that highlights the balance between humanity, science and finance. I would like to note, The Rationing was published in May 2019, prior to our current Pandemic situation. Stay safe and enjoy!"
