A Message From Miss Candace

During the lunch hour one can follow the sound of baby giggles to a whimsical scene of tiny bubbles, rainbow colored scarves, and a flying pig puppet brightening the children’s corner of the library.

Lebanon County Libraries offer Smart Start Storytime, a book-based musical program for 0-2 year olds that creates meaningful bonds between babies and their adults. This unique 30 minute interactive program includes movement, songs, instruments, rhymes, puppets, and tickles that provide adults with ideas to extend books in a playful way that begins their child on a path to preliteracy. It’s smart to start visiting the library with your baby so they will develop familiarity and comfort with books, words, music, rules, routine, structure, libraries, and other adults and children. These early learning experiences will shape the future success of our youngest patrons. Come to the Lebanon Community Library and give your baby a smart start while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
